floating night

stars float in a universe floating silently into eyes

children refuse to float jump in and out of blue water

drops settle and explode liquid fire crackers break the night

for a moment

then freefall water-falling sky rockets reach for the stars

float back

to earth

wet bodies create small waves disrupt peaceful connection

floating upon buoyant water grants seek hard splashes of light sinking

into depths beneath bobbing floating body of joy smiles

so large predators float on padded feet

floating night

children float asleep I creep through green gate

into floating darkness stars bright Venus risen

floats into deep blue arms Mars not far behind floating

with me keeping company Orion’s pot on the angle

of a dipped cap as if water floated out of stars
